Fort Valley State University (FVSU) is a historically black university (HBCU) located in Fort Valley. It is also a member of the University System of Georgia and a member-school of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. Fort Valley is about 100 miles south of Atlanta. The student body at FVSU is approximately 91 percent of African-American descent. The average age of undergraduates is 34 and the average age of graduates is 33. Georgia College & State University (GCSU) is a public liberal arts university in Milledgeville. It has about 7,000 students. The Clinical/Personality Psychology specialization explores the relationship between typical personality development and atypical processes that can lead to mental illness. It involves the study of the science and practice of providing assessment and treatment services. This is done at individual, family or community levels for people with or at risk for mental illness. This specialization is an excellent choice for students who have career interests in fields related to human mental health and well being, such as:

The Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech or GT) is a public research university in Atlanta. It is a part of the University System of Georgia and has satellite campuses around the world. The institution was founded in 1885 as the Georgia School of Technology. It was part of Reconstruction plans to build an industrial economy in the post-Civil War Southern United States. Initially, it offered only a degree in mechanical engineering but by 1901 the curriculum had expanded to include:

Georgia Regents University (GRU) is a public academic health center with the main campus located in Augusta. It is one of the four public research universities in the University System of Georgia .
