Located in Newton (less than 10 miles from Boston), Lasell College is a private coeducational college founded in 1851. Current undergraduate enrollment is 1,687 students on the 53-acre main campus. Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology degree program at Lasell is designed to provide students with an examination into how individuals think, feel, and behave within personal, social, cultural and societal contexts. The psychology curriculum is grounded in a liberal arts approach to education and shares a common goal to allow students the application of critical thinking skills to social and psychological questions. Students learn to use intervention techniques and counseling skills that are appropriate for aiding individuals and changing social conditions. Coursework for the program identifies the development of functional and dysfunctional behavior patterns, interplay between an individual’s neurobiological, interpersonal, cultural, community, and societal processes. Research and statistics courses provide basic concepts in experimental design and analysis. Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology program explore relevant topical areas in the field such as:

The program allows students to benefit from a strong research and clinical component with research and lab experiential opportunities. The program requires 36 credits of core curriculum, 42 credits of General Education coursework and 42 credits of Free Electives.

The Psychology Department
Founded in 1894, The Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (also known as MCLA) is a public, residential college located in North Adams, Massachusetts. MCLA is part of the University System of Massachusetts and has a total enrollment of 1,538 students on the 105-acre main campus. The college offers both undergraduate and graduate programs. Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
Curriculum for the Bachelor of Arts (BA) in psychology degree program includes a study into the principles of human growth and development and the processes of learning, cognition, and emotion. There is an emphasis on knowledge that relates to the development of individuals’ personality, maladaptive behavior, social diversity, and group interactions and the biological basis of behavior. The program builds a core foundation to enter careers in human services and counseling, in business and industry settings and to work with children, adolescents, and adults in schools or clinical settings. Graduates of the program are also prepared to enter graduate programs in psychology, social work, business, education, and other related professions. Competencies for the BA in Psychology program include:
- Show knowledge in Developmental, abnormal, social, and research and statistical methodology areas of psychology
- Proficiency in designing empirical research
- Have competency using a statistical package analyzing data and present those results in APA manuscript style
- Communicate orally and written proficiently
Students enrolled in this program can also elect to pursue a Behavior Analysis Minor to prepare them for careers or graduate work in the study of behavior. The minor satisfies the current course work requirements for the Board of Certified Associate Behavior Analyst examination (BCABA).

The Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University (locally known as Mass Pharm and MCP) is an accredited coed private college located in Boston, Massachusetts. With a prominent history of specializing in medical careers, the university provides traditional and accelerated programs of study in pharmacy and the health sciences. Bachelor of Science in Psychology
Students in the Bachelor of Science in Psychology program study the science of psychology, to develop essential thinking and communication skills required to work in collaborative teams making evidence-based decisions. Throughout the program student’s work with faculty in order to identify and prepare for careers matching their specific interests and strengths. The Bachelor of Science in Psychology program allows students preparing for careers in bachelor level careers in patient care, health research or management or administration, or for further studies in public health, psychology, medicine or social work. The program includes an integrated core curriculum where students complete traditional psychology courses in order to meet educational and career goals. Psychology majors will also complete a one-year field placement. There is also an opportunity to add a minor concentration in American Studies, Biology, Chemistry, Medical Humanities, Performing Arts (COF), Public Health or Premedical Studies. This allows students to develop knowledge in a focal area complementing the interdisciplinary design of the degree program. MCPHS’s Psychology BA program is one of the few programs nationwide providing students with a general foundation in psychology as well as a focus on psychosocial aspects of health and illness
