Psychology Major

CNR’s Psychology Major offers an accredited bachelor’s degree for undergraduates seeking systematic knowledge of the processes underlying cognitive functioning and influencing human behavior. Psychology Major with Human Resource Management Track

In partnership with the Business Program, the Psychology Major allows baccalaureate students to select a special career track in Human Resource Management. Undergraduates can infuse their scientific study of brain and behavior with fundamental business principles for careers in personnel management. HRM students learn the ethical, effective practices used in corporate environments to retain a productive, multicultural workforce. The College of Saint Rose

School of Mathematics & Sciences

Endowed for $31.6 million, the College of Saint Rose is a private, co-educational liberal arts institution sponsored by the Sisters of Saint Joseph to serve over 4,800 students of diverse faiths on a 36-acre urban campus in Albany’s Pine Hills neighborhood. Highly regarded in Money magazine’s top values for its 97 percent financial aid rate, Saint Rose is ranked the North’s 53rd best regional college and 39th top university for former military by the U.S. News. Bachelor of Arts in Psychology

Housed in the state-of-the-art Albertus Hall, the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology program gives Saint Rose students the freedom to customize their voyage into the intricacies of the human mind and behavior. The four-year program consists of liberal education, major courses, empirical research, and applied electives. Students can tailor their studies in five concentrations: Behavioral Neuroscience, Clinical/Counseling Psychology, Health Psychology, Human Development, or Industrial/Organizational Psychology. Each track contains 124 total credits, including one to six credits of internship. Courses are offered on a rotating schedule with a 14:1 student-faculty ratio. Unlike most schools, research is a critical component of the B.A. Students complete a senior project and often present at the Eastern Psychological Association meeting.

Bachelor of Science in Forensic Psychology

Bringing together psychology and criminal justice, the Bachelor of Science in Forensic Psychology is available for Saint Rose undergraduates intrigued by the assessment and treatment of criminal populations. Students have the unique ability to examine psychological issues and phenomenon within the adult and juvenile legal system. The 122-credit curriculum spans from liberal arts core to psychology and forensic science coursework. Department of Psychology

Psychology Major

United States Military Academy

Department of Behavioral Sciences & Leadership

Following the motto “Duty, Honor, Country,” the United States Military Academy is a four-year federal, co-educational service institution enrolling over 4,400 cadets on a vast 16,080-acre rural campus in West Point overlooking the Hudson River Valley only 50 miles from Manhattan. Honored among the Princeton Review’s best tuition-free schools, USMA is ranked the 22nd best liberal arts college and second top public university nationally by the U.S. News. Psychology Major

West Point’s Psychology Major strives to prepare future Army officers with the behavioral science knowledge to better understand the people they’ll lead. Cadets are trained to counsel, teach, and motivate cohesive units under the most stressful battle conditions. Great emphasis is placed on the problem-solving skills required to design interventions that reduce distress in soldiers and their families. Cadets are introduced to the basic psychological theories for human-centered design of military systems that boost soldier performance. Partnering with West Point’s ABET-accredited engineering department, the 11-course major delves into science-based courses like biomechanics, human-computer interaction, human factors psychology, cognitive psychology, and applied statistics. Honors Tracks are available for cadets holding a minimum major GPA of 3.5. Most spend at least one semester abroad in countries like Egypt, China, and Russia.
