Endowed for $48 million, North Carolina A&T State University is a public, land-grant historically black research institution founded in 1891 that’s grown to accommodate over 10,700 students in 200+ programs on a main 200-acre urban campus just nine blocks from downtown Greensboro. Ranked 13th nationally on the Social Mobility Index, NC A&T is named America’s ninth best HBCU by the U.S. News. Washington Monthly placed the SACS-accredited university 49th for civic engagement. Psychology – Bachelor of Arts
Attracting over 500 undergraduates, the Psychology – Bachelor of Arts is one of North Carolina A&T’s largest majors. The 120-credit curriculum consists of 45 psychology credits to introduce students to the research-based concepts relevant to human behavior. Quality classroom instruction with an 18:1 student-faculty ratio offers preparation for entry-level employment and graduate admission. Available electives range from industrial psychology and cross-cultural psychology to forensic psychology and behavioral data analytics. Although not required, students with a 2.5 GPA or higher can complete a for-credit internship. Majors are also invited to participate in the Association of Black Psychologists (ABPsi) chapter.

Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
Requiring 124 semester hours, the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology program at NCCU is offered to serious undergraduates wanting to develop upon the liberal arts core with complex, scientific psychological theories. Psychology Major
NC State’s Psychology Major is ideal for undergraduates intrigued by studying principles of human experience, including personality, mental health, emotion, and social relations. The 120-credit curriculum always beings with PSY 200, but students then tailor seminars to their post-graduation goals. In addition to General Psychology, there’s a Human Resource Development concentration available. For applied experience, students can spend 20 hours per week in the STEP internship program. Forensic Science (B.A.) with Psychology Concentration
Aligned with the ASCLD’s guidelines, the Forensic Science (B.A.) program offers an in-demand opportunity for St. Andrews students to prepare for entry-level employment in crime labs. The 120-credit program builds a scientific basis of forensic investigation techniques for analyzing trace evidence and bringing justice. Students can choose from two available concentrations: Chemistry and Psychology. Picking the latter will immerse B.A. majors in forensic psychology, a field devoted to addressing mental health questions in the legal system. Coursework will survey biopsychology, behavior pathology, social psychology, cognitive neuroscience, and personality. Students holding a 3.5 GPA and 1200 SAT score or better can enter the Honors Program.
