Counseling and Psychology Degrees Offered at the University of Florida
The University of Florida has a wealth of options to choose from; housed within 16 colleges there is a library of 100 undergraduate programs and 200 graduate programs. UF also offers 30 unique certificates. The Department of Psychology is found within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and boasts 43 majors. At the advanced level, students can earn a Ph.D. in Psychology or a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology. Ph.D. students can opt for a specialty focus in behavior analysis, developmental, neurobehavioral and cognitive sciences or social psychology. Each Ph.D. offered requires the completion of 90 credit hours. This department is competitive but is well worth the challenge as it offers national fellowships and other extremely sought after positions that can help students flourish in the long run. Students participating at this level will work closely with department faculty members through an apprenticeship. Research topics include the study of cognition, diversity, assessment of stress and its effects on the brain, addiction, and obesity.
If students are seeking a graduate degree, the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology within the College of Public Health and Health Professions offers an M.S. in Clinical Child/Pediatric Psychology, an M.S. in Clinical Health Psychology and an M.S. in Neuropsychology and Clinical Neuroscience. Students can also opt to earn a Ph.D. in Cognitive and Emotion Neuroscience within this department.

The University of Florida Application Requirements
First-year undergraduate students can apply to the University of Florida via the Coalition App or the Common App. In order to be considered for admissions, students should have a GPA of at least 4.3, SAT or ACT scores of 1330-1460 or 29-33, completed UF supplement short-answer questions, residency declaration information, a personal essay (prompts and topics are provided), self-reported high school transcripts, and a $30 application fee. Graduate students must also submit a $30 application fee, satisfactory GRE, GMAT or FE scores, and official transcripts. Tuition and Financial Aid
Undergraduate students who reside on campus can expect tuition of $21,210. Students who live on campus will pay the same, $21,210. Undergraduates who live at home with family members will have a tuition of $11,950 and those who choose to participate in summer courses can expect tuition of $7,370 while living on campus. Out-of-state residents will have tuition of $22,278. These prices include the cost of books & supplies, housing, food, transportation, and any other personal expenses. Graduate students who reside on campus will have tuition of $29,060 while those who reside off campus can expect to pay $30,040. Students who live at home with family members can expect to pay $18,420. Graduates who participate in the summer programs who reside off campus can expect tuition of $10,050. Out-of-state students will have tuition of $17,394. At the University of Florida, 42% of undergraduates that are full-time have received an average scholarship or grant reward of at least $7,801.
