The College of Arts and Sciences
Founded in 1932, Lawrence Technological University is a private coed university located in Southfield. Lawrence Tech awards undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs in:

Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
The Psychology major at Lawrenceville Tech prepares students for careers that require an understanding of human behavior and the mind. The curriculum includes core of foundational coursework in humanities emphasizing:

Students are required to take interdisciplinary courses. They have to have the ability to specialize their area of interest by choosing one of four specialization areas including the following:

Bachelor of Science in Psychology
The BS degree program is very similar to that of the BA with the exception of no requirement for a foreign language requirement and additional courses in math and science. Students pursuing the BS can choose from the available concentrations.

Madonna University
The Psychology Department
Madonna University is a private Catholic liberal arts university located in Livonia. It was founded as the Blessed Virgin Mary college by the Felician Sisters in 1937. It offers associate and bachelor’s degrees in more than 100 majors as well as 35 master’s programs. The university has satellite campuses in Detroit, Orchard Lake, Clinton Township and Gaylord Michigan.
Madonna is among the largest Catholic Franciscan universities in the country. The sports team, the “Crusaders” participates in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics competing in the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Association.

Bachelor of Science in Psychology
The major in psychology provides core knowledge of significant findings and issues in psychology with an appreciation of the diversity of human life. Course work provides students with the skills enter the work force or pursue a graduate education. Students of the Psychology majors program must choose an area of concentration in one of three area including:
- The General Concentration provides a study of a wide range of principles of psychology including the study of the human mind and behavior. This concentration provides the skills required for careers that require strong interpersonal and intrapersonal skills, including sales and service. Gaining critical thinking and communications skills, graduates are well prepared to enter the job market or to pursue graduate study.
- Curriculum for the Business Concentration provides a background in the field of psychology with an emphasis on the theory and research related to business. Students enrolled in this concentration can either focus on marketing or human resources, taking courses in the school of business. Business Specialization prepares students to pursue graduate study in the field of Industrial-Organizational psychology.
- The Mental Health Concentration provides the skills required to enter careers in social service and mental health agencies or to pursue a graduate education in the field of mental health. Topics of study for the concentration include:
- psychological disorders
- psychological testing and assessment
- theories of personality
- relationships existing between the central nervous system and various mental problems
- the ethical and legal issues that exist in mental health practice
Students are required to do a two semester field experience in a community agency.

Michigan Technological University is a public coed research university located in Houghton. Its main campus is located on 925 acres overlooking Portage Lake. Michigan Tech, founded in 1885, was created to train mining engineers to work in local copper mines. Michigan Tech awards more than 130-degree programs through its five colleges and schools.
In 2016, US News & World Report ranked Michigan Technological University as the 123rd Best National University. The school’s undergraduate enrollment is over 5,500 students.
