Bachelor of Science in Psychology
The 10-course psychology major offers study in the many facets of individual and human functioning, including skills in:

Central Michigan University
The College of Humanities and Social and Behavioral Sciences
Founded in 1892, Central Michigan University (CMU) is a public institution located in Mount Pleasant. It has an enrollment of about 21,000 undergraduate students. Central Michigan is one of the country’s largest universities with more than 50 satellite locations across North America.
Students can earn bachelor’s degrees in more than 200 fields as well as master’s degrees in a wide range of programs. In 2016, US News and World Report Best Colleges ranked Central Michigan University as the 120th best National Liberal Arts College. Bachelor of Arts in Psychology

This multidisciplinary psychology major includes the opportunity to pursue coursework from four departments including:

Curriculum for the program provides a focused academic background. Students develop the skills required to enter neuroscience-related jobs in the private and public sectors. They can also pursue a graduate or professional education. The major requires 25 credits of electives from courses in biology, health sciences, and/or psychology. A minimum of 12 credit hours of chemistry is also required. A total of 6 credits of directed research can be used toward this degree. Goals for the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science Psychology major include the following competencies:
- Allow students to gain an awareness of the psychological processes taking place within themselves and their environment
- Develop the technical competence for careers that require knowledge and skills in human development, mental health, behavior analysis, and other psychological areas
