The state of Massachusetts offers residents and non-residents a variety of options for earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Psychology Department
Eastern Nazarene College (ENC) is a private coeducational Christian liberal arts and science college. Its enrollment is 1,200 in undergraduate programs, adult studies and a graduate program. The college is located in Quincy, near Boston. It was one of the first three schools founded under the guidance of the Association of Pentecostal Churches of America. It’s the oldest educational institution affiliated with the Nazarenes.
ENC is one of 160 members of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU). The mission of the college is “serving God, the Church, and the World by providing students with a quality liberal arts education. Within the Wesleyan heritage, to create and maintain an environment that will foster truth, righteousness, justice, and holiness as made possible by God’s transforming grace through Jesus Christ”. The 2015 edition of US News and World Report Best Colleges ranked Eastern Nazarene College as Tier 2 for National Liberal Arts College. The goal of the Psychology Department is to integrate Christian principles with the doctrines of psychology to pursue a graduate education or for employment.
Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
Students of the BA in Psychology are exposed to a broad background in psychological theory and research methods. Competencies for the program include:

Students are required to earn a minimum of 123 Graduation Credits to include 43 credits General Education Requirements and 47 credits Psychology Elective Credits.
Bachelor of Science in Psychology

Emmanuel College is a coeducational private Roman Catholic liberal arts college located in Boston. The Sister of Notre Dame de Namur founded Emmanuel in 1919 as the first women’s Catholic College in New England.
The 2015 edition of US News and World Report Best Colleges ranked Emmanuel College 60th among Regional Northern Universities. It includes research techniques such as survey construction and systematic observation. Areas of study include behavioral disorders, counseling techniques, and forensic psychology. - Early Childhood Education is a 24-credit specialization focusing on relevant issues for careers as teachers in private and pre-K child development centers
- Montessori Education is an 18-credit specialization focusing on issues and principles of Montessori method of education
- Homeland Security Studies is an 18-credit concentration with a focus on issues that are relevant to corporate, national and global security for assessing risk and engaging in critical thinking about conflict and security
- Trauma Studies is an 18-credit emphasis for students pursuing careers in educational, clinical or social work settings serving individuals who have experienced trauma
