The University of Maryland – Baltimore County (UMBC) is a public research university, located in Baltimore County, about 10 minutes from downtown Baltimore City. - Explain major psychological theories, principles, and constructs, including interpreting data and psychological phenomena.
- Understand the process of planning and conducting a scientific investigation of a psychological problem in accordance with ethical principles of psychology.
- Critically analyze, evaluate, and summarize arguments presented in research articles.
- Develop and present a data based written argument in a clear manner using appropriate grammar and spelling to produce a journal style report that conforms to APA style.
- Make an effective oral presentation on some aspect of psychology.
- Use computer technology skills to summarize, analyze, and graphically present data.
- Demonstrate an active involvement in the field of psychology through an application of psychological knowledge with relevant experiences in the discipline by participating in the following: practicum, group activity, and research.

Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with Minor in Forensic Psychology
Students interested in a career at the junction of psychology and law can complete a minor in forensic psychology. The Department of Psychology
Washington College is a private, independent liberal arts college located in Chestertown. The state of Maryland granted Washington College its charter in 1782. George Washington supported the founding of the college by consenting to have the “College at Chester” named in his honor. The college is the 10th-oldest college in the United States and was the first college chartered after American independence.
In 2015, US News and World Report ranked Washington College as the 105th best National Liberal Arts College. Students can choose from three degree options within the department:
