The Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling is offered completely online. Students learn about therapeutic processes, human development principles, mental health, and effective counseling techniques. The program requires the completion of 60 credit hours, including an internship and residency. Lamar University is a public university located in Beaumont, Texas. It is a part of the Texas State University System. It is designated as a Doctoral Research University by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. It was established in 1923 under the name South Park Junior College. It changed its name to Lamar College in 1932 in honor of Mirabeau B. Lamar, who was the second president of the Republic of Texas. In 1951, the college became Lamar State College of Technology.
