Southwestern Assemblies of God University is located in Waxahachie, Texas and is affiliated with the Assemblies of God Church. The school was once known as Southwestern Bible Institute and was once a set of three different Christian schools located in Texas and Oklahoma. The university has around 2,000 students attending its classes, with approximately 300 of those students enrolled at the graduate level. The university’s official colors are gold and purple, and students are nicknamed the Lions when they play sports.
The school’s teams participate in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and the National Christian Colleges Athletic Association. The university’s mascot is named Judah the Lion, and games are played within the Sooner Athletic Conference. The university divided itself into two colleges in 2004 with the College of Arts & Professions and the College of Bible & Church Ministries.

Application items required for successful entry into Southwestern Assemblies of God University include the completed and signed application, official standardized test scores, high school transcripts, and the application fee. Students with college experience must also submit all college transcripts. The minimum score students must have on the ACT is 19, and the minimum score for the SAT is 990.

Tuition and Financial Aid
Southwestern Assemblies of God University charges a different amount for tuition based on whether a student attends classes on campus or online, as well as whether the student is enrolled in undergraduate or graduate classes. Tuition for on-campus students in Waxahachie is $10,248 for a tuition load of 12 to 16 hours. Room and board charges vary from $1,415 to $2,125 per room for double occupancy. Students can also request a single occupancy room if space is available and pay a 50 percent increase on the cost of the room. A campus meal plan ranges from $1,815 to $2,100. For graduate students attending classes on the campus, the cost per credit hour is $595. The cost for doctoral students is $575 per credit hour.
To obtain financial aid from Southwestern Assemblies of God University, students must formally apply to the university, submit their FAFSA online to the federal government, and submit an additional financial aid application to the university.
