Washington State University received accreditation from the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). The Collge of Arts and Sciences has accreditation credentials for its Ph.D. program in clinical psychology from the American Psychological Association Commission on Accreditation (APA). The College of Education received accreditation credentials for the master’s and doctoral levels for counseling psychology from the American Psychological Association Commission on Accreditation (APA).
Washington State University Application Requirements
First-year undergraduate students seeking admissions should fulfill the CADR requirements for the state of Washington. CADR stands for College Academic Distribution Requirements. When the CADR standards are met, students can access an online application. Prospective students who possess and unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher and are ranked in the top 10th percentile of their high school class are guaranteed admissions and should proceed to apply through the “assured admissions” program portal. All other students should provide official high school transcripts, satisfactory SAT or ACT scores, and a resume. Some programs might require students to submit extra supplemental documents. Applicants should submit a $50 application fee.
Graduate students should begin their application by submitting a $75 fee. Required documents include letters of recommendation, satisfactory GRE or GMAT scores, TOEFL, IELTS or MELAB scores (if applicable), and official transcripts.
Tuition and Financial Aid
Undergraduate students who are residents of the state of Washington and taking a maximum of 18 credit hours will have a tuition of $23,922. Students who are non-residents and taking a maximum of 18 credit hours will pay $38,500. These prices include the cost of required fees, housing, a dining plan, and books.
Graduate students who are residents of the state of Washington and taking a maximum of 18 credit hours will pay $6,025. Non-residents of the state who are taking a maximum of 18 credit hours will pay $12,903. These prices include the cost of student activity fees as well as building fees. Graduate students who are residents and non-residents must pay a fee of $522.08 for the usage of the recreation center, health and wellness fees, and transit expenses.
