Adams State University

The Department of Psychology

Adams State University is a small state-supported Liberal Arts University in Alamosa, Colorado. The school is located in the San Luis Valley and is home to the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve. Adams State was founded in 1921 as a teacher’s college but now offers students a variety of degree programs at the undergraduate and graduate level. The Department of Psychology offers degree programs in General, Clinical, Developmental and Sports Psychology.

Bachelor of Arts in Psychology

The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology Degree program sets forth a core curriculum that covers the theoretical framework and history of psychology. Bachelor of Arts in Sports Psychology

The Bachelor of Arts degree in Sport Psychology at Adams combines curriculum from the Human Performance & Physical Education program with Psychology program. The BA degree offers students the opportunity to learn about psychological concepts and theories and apply these concepts to a sport context. Students will also develop an appreciation and understanding of sport and exercise psychology. The program increases student understanding of: sports participants, environments, and group processes, performance enhancing techniques such as goal setting, imagery, and self-talk.

Colorado Christian University (CCU) is a private, interdenominational Christian liberal arts university in Lakewood, Colorado in the United States. CCU was founded in 1914 as the Denver Bible Institute. Colorado College

The Department of Psychology

The Colorado College (CC) is a private liberal arts college in Colorado Springs, Colorado, located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Colorado College is known for its non-traditional “block plan,” which divides the year into eight academic terms called “blocks”. The traditional semester does not exist at CC. Instead of a full course, CC students take one class every three-and-a-half weeks through the school’s Block Plan. Classes are small, have no designated end date and can run as long as the teacher and students require. Each month, students get a four-and-a-half day Block Break to refresh before starting a new class. Students are required to take eight classes each year. Bachelor of Arts in Psychology

The Colorado College Psychology Degree Program outlines the basic and lasting principles and theories of psychology rather than current trends of popular media outlets. Colorado State University (CSU) is a public research university located in Fort Collins, Colorado. The University is the state’s land grant university, and is the flagship university of the Colorado State University System. Colorado State University–Pueblo (CSU–Pueblo) is a regional comprehensive public institution of higher learning located in Pueblo, Colorado. CSU Pueblo is often called the flagship university for the Pueblo region. This university campus is a member of the Colorado State University System (CSUS), in conjunction with Colorado State University (CSU) in Fort Collins and Colorado State University-Global Campus. Bachelor of Arts in Psychology

There are many similarities between the Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Science Degrees offered by the Psychology Department at CSU-Pueblo. Both programs offer the study of psychological theory and research, the development of computer, statistical, and psychological application skills as well as the development of written and oral communication skills in psychology and beyond. The BA program requires students to complete additional foreign language credits for degree completion. This means that students must either complete a second level foreign language course, complete two courses in Linguistics and Language Thought or Complete first and second level courses in American Sign Language.

Bachelor of Science in Psychology

Students seeking a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in psychology will need to fulfill the minimum curriculum set forth by the psychology department. In addition must complete eight credits in the natural sciences or math (such as Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, or Physics) beyond their general education courses. Fort Lewis College

The Department of Psychology

Fort Lewis College (FLC) is a public liberal arts college located in Durango, Colorado and a member of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges. The College was originally a military fort and later was turned into an Indian boarding school turned state public school. Now, Fort Lewis College adheres to a 1911 mandate to provide a tuition-free education for qualified Native Americans. FLC awards approximately 16 percent of the Baccalaureate Degrees earned by Native American students in the United States. In 2008, FLC was designated as one of six national Native American-serving, non-tribal colleges by the U.S. Department of Education.
