Bachelor of Science in Human Factors Psychology
The BS degree in Human Factors Psychology emphasizes human behavior, ergonomics, and human capacities. Students will learn to design, conduct, and apply human factors research to the design of simple and complex systems. The goal of the program is to “educate and graduate professionals who are equipped for employment as human factors specialists or to continue their education in graduate school”. The BS Degree in Human Factors Psychology can be earned in eight semesters and requires 123 credit hours. Students are encouraged to choose a specialization by way of a minor, such as:

- Flight
- Mathematics
Most minors can be accomplished with the 15 hours of required open electives.
Concurrent Degree – Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Human Factors Psychology
The COAS also offers a five-year program that allows high-level students the opportunity to begin graduate work toward their Master of Science in Human Factors (MSHF) while finishing their BS in Human Factors Psychology. All undergraduate Human Factors students who meet eligibility requirements that include a CGPA of 3.20, junior-year standing and completion of the GRE may apply for consideration for admission.

The BA in Psychology provides students with a broad liberal arts background. Students must fulfill the requirements of the Liberal Arts curriculum as well as core coursework for the psychology major. This degree is most appropriate for students seeking a general Liberal Arts degree that will allow them to pursue graduate study or employment in many areas.
Bachelor of Science in Psychology
Students pursuing a BS in psychology degree must also complete the same Liberal Arts and general psychology requirements as BA students. They do not, however, have to complete a foreign language requirement. Instead,nBS students are required to fulfill more math and sciences courses. This program of study is most appropriate for students who plan to pursue a career or enter a graduate program in psychology or a related field.

College of Psychology and Liberal Arts – The School of Psychology
The Florida Institute of Technology (Florida Tech or FIT) is a private research university located in Melbourne. Florida Tech has five academic divisions with an emphasis on study in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
Florida Tech gives students the ability to pursue either a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in psychology. Students create an educational plan that meets their area of interest. The BA degree is ideal for students interested in the social sciences and humanities. The curriculum was created with a foundation in liberal arts that facilitates concentrations in human and animal behaviors.
Bachelor of Science in Psychology
The BS degree program covers much of the same curriculum as the BA program. Students pursuing a BS degree in psychology will be required to complete additional science and math courses. Students in both the BA and BS degree programs can choose from many different areas of specialization, including:
- Animal Behavior: Courses in both biological sciences and behavior analysis emphasize biological bases of behavior and species-specific learning. There are also standard principles of training that cross species lines. Most animal behavior psychology degree students also add a minor in biology.
- Applied Behavior Analysis: This concentration prepares students for the associate certification in behavior analysis (BCABA). It creates career opportunities in facilities and organizations that place an emphasis on behavioral interventions. In the ABA concentration, the focus on principles of behavioral analysis and intervention strategies.
- Clinical Psychology: The clinical/counseling psychology program exposes students to courses and internships that emphasize the assessment and treatment of mental and emotional disorders. Such areas of study include substance abuse, abnormal psychology, clinical psychology, professional ethics and assessment techniques.
- Forensic Psychology: The forensic psychology specialization program combines the study of psychology with the legal system. Florida Tech is one of a few schools in the United States that offer a forensic psychology undergraduate degree. There is a foundation in social and experimental science based psychology courses. Students learn a basis of legal knowledge, actively participate in clinical practice and learn about criminal justice procedures.
- Industrial/Organizational Psychology: This degree prepares students to enter the business world upon graduation. Areas include in industrial/organizational psychology, business law, management, human resource management, organizational behavior and substance abuse. Students who choose this concentration are encouraged to add a minor in business administration.
- Neuropsychology: This specialization focuses on the complex area of brain and behavior interactions and the relationship between the nervous system and cognitive function. Students study humans in a laboratory setting. They learn toassess, manage and rehabilitate people with neuro-cognitive problems due to illness or brain injury.
- Social/Cultural Psychology: This degree program combines psychology and social sciences. It explores sociology, anthropology, economics and political science to provide a complete understanding of the human condition.
- Sports Psychology: This is for students hoping to pursue a graduate psychology degree in sport psychology, or careers in coaching or training. They will study physiological psychology, leadership, group behavior, sport psychology and applied sport psychology. A minor in education is encouraged for those interested in working in secondary education.
Bachelor of Arts in Forensic Psychology
The BA degree in Forensic Psychology is for students who want to learn how psychological theory and research are used in the criminal justice system and related fields. Students gain a comprehensive understanding of human behavior, including criminality. They will also learn important skills in data analysis, writing and research.
Bachelor of Arts in Applied Behavior Analysis
Students in the BA in Applied Behavior Analysis program will learn to analyze behavior problems. They will learn to provide treatment to people with autism or act as a consultant to agencies like child welfare organizations. Students will develop a strong background in behavior analysis and get hands-on experience in analysis and communication.
